ImageThis is an excellent book for young adolescents and gifted readers as it follows the adventures of the unusual and eclectic Murry family through the space and time in a battle of good versus evil. The main protagonist of the story, Charles Wallace, joined by his sister Meg, and their friend Calvin O'Keefe, travels through space to find their father. The adventure leads Meg to the discovery that her father is not perfect and with the help of Mrs Whatsit, Mrs Who and Mrs Which, they each realise that their individual and collective strengths are what is needed to rescue their father.

For readers who love a series, the adventures of the Murry family continue in:

A Wind in the Door;

A Swiftly Tilting Planet, which won the American Book Award; and

Many Waters.
